In developing countries, six children die every minute from preventable diseases. And mothers are 14x more likely to die in childbirth than in the U.S.
We think that's unacceptable.
What we're doing
In honor of Mother's Day - we're rallying a team of women to stand up and help women in Uganda become Community Health Promoters - giving them the skills to provide critical health care to children and pregnant moms.
Makeup artist, wife and mom of three boys.
Marie Claire. E! Project Runway Allstars Mentor. Stylist. Co Founder of Milk Makeup. Mum.
Founder and Creative Director, AERIN; Style and Image Director, Estée Lauder.
These three incredible women are lending their voices and donating a handbag full of their favorite things to be auctioned off as part of the campaign. The Coveteur will be featuring the campaign and bidding will take place on IfOnly.com.
Every $25 raised will provide ten people with health care in Uganda.
Our goal is to rally women to collectively raise $25,000. If successful, One Day's Wages Foundation will match our donations (to $50,000!) - enough to train 25 women to become Community Health Promoters in 25 villages in need.
Together, we can bring 20,000 people access to critical health care.
1 WomAn = 800 people
Every woman trained will serve approximately 800 people in her community with lifesaving health care. She will earn a living selling over 60+ health products at affordable prices.
Every CHP pays special attention to pregnant moms and children. Data shows these women are reducing child mortality by over 25% in their communities. 25%!!
A woman's work is truly lifesaving.
