THE WIN-A-TRIP CONTEST

Travel with us on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Kenya, September 4th-10th (over Labor Day). Or, you have the option of coming on our next trip in Spring 2017 (we'll work with you to coordinate a date that works).

For September's trip - you'll travel with us to visit three local partners who are tackling poverty by creating jobs. You'll meet the entrepreneurs and families they are serving. Oh, and we're going on a two-day safari, during prime migration season.

How can I enter?

To join, you must be a member of The Collective giving at least $30 a month. Sign up here: Join The Collective.

Do I have to be a monthly member of The Collective to win?

Yes.

Who wins?

One spot will be raffled off on August 5th at 3PM EST. Three remaining spots are reserved for the first three people who successfully recruit 30 of their friends to join The Collective.

How can I get my friends to sign up?

We will provide you with fundraising tips and the material that will help you to run a successful campaign. A good start is to send emails and share your campaign through social media

What is the impact of my donation?

By joining our Collective with a minimum commitment of $1 a day ($30 per month) you will impact one person every week.

If 30 of your friends join, you’ll create 7 jobs and impact over 1,800 people each year.

Are there any restrictions to join the competition or enter the raffle?

Yes. You must be 18 or older to enter. You also must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and in good health.

How do you track if friends sign-up? Will I be notified?

After signing up, we'll send you a unique URL you can share with friends. You will receive an automatic email every time a friend signs up.

September TRIP DETAILS

When is the trip and how long it is?

The trip will be 7 days, starting on Labor Day weekend: from Saturday, September 3rd to Saturday, September 10th.

Will it cost me anything?

All on-the-ground costs such as meals, hotels and transportation are covered. As well as flights from the US to Nairobi. #ForReal.

What costs are not covered?

You are responsible for any fees associated with your passport, visa ($50), transportation to/from your closest local airport, any medications or shots, as well as medical and travel insurance. We've got the rest. Which... we think is pretty awesome.

If I win, can I bring a friend or significant other?

Nope (unless your friend also wins). But think of it as a trip with ten of your future friends. You'll be with TAP's co-founder, Becky Straw, TAP staff, a few incredible entrepreneurs and the three other winners...

What if I already have plans over Labor Day? Could I gift my spot to a friend or come with you on the next one?

Sure thing. If you win but those dates don't work for you, we'll make every effort to get you on the next trip (or, we can take your lucky friend).

Is the trip wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, the trip is not wheelchair accessible.

What if I have food allergies?

Let us know so we can accommodate.

Is Kenya safe, though?

There are currently no restrictions for traveling to Kenya. However, as for any trip abroad, we recommend you to stay vigilant with regard to your personal security. Experienced staff will be with you at all times.

What are the medical requirements?

Make sure you are up to date on routine vaccines. These vaccines include measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot.

It's also recommended (but not required) that prior to travel you visit your doctor or local travel clinic for medications for and immunizations to the following: Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Yellow Fever, Malaria. Some travelers are recommended to get additional vaccinations. Ask your doctor for details.

We strongly recommend malaria meds.

We will require a doctors clearance note stating that you are in good health, prior to travel.

For travel clinic locations and additional information, please visit the Center for Disease Control at www.cdc.gov/travel.

Do I need a passport and visa?

To travel to Kenya a passport valid for six months beyond the date of date of entry and a visa is required. You can apply for a visa and pay the associated fees ($50) at the point of entry in Nairobi.

Do I need insurance?

Prior to traveling with TAP, you are required to obtain medical and travel insurance that will cover you during your trip. Please contact your insurance company to find out if you are covered in other countries. We can provide recommendations for travelers insurance.
