This quarter, we're focusing on the hunger crisis.
We're tackling the issue by supporting farmers in Kenya.
Here are three reasons why:
75% of the world's poor don't buy their food - they grow it. Helping families increase and diversify their crop yields helps feed families.
One in four people in sub-Saharan Africa suffer from hunger - the highest prevalence in the world. We're focused in Kenya, where 75% of the population relies on farming to make a living.
Africa holds more than a quarter of the world's arable land, yet only 4% of farmland in Africa is irrigated. There is an enormous opportunity to feed millions of people by helping family farms gain access to irrigation.
Poverty is the primary cause of hunger.
This quarter, all the funds we raise from general donations and our Collective Members will help farmers feed their children, and enable them to sell their surplus produce in local markets.
We're looking forward to bringing these stories to you. And if you're interested in getting more involved or sponsoring a farmer and his or her family, just send us an email. We'd love to plug you in.
