Are Farmers Hungry?

Three out of four Kenyans work as rural farmers. Yet most aren't growing enough to even feed their families.

40% of children under 5 years old in Kenya are malnourished.

These farmers aren't bad at their jobs, they just lack proper tools. Most farmers rely on the unpredictable rainy season or the painstaking task of watering their crops with buckets. The rest of the year they struggle to make it through long "hungry seasons" where most families live on one meal a day.

An irrigation pump is a life-changing investment.

This quarter, we're working with KickStart International  to get irrigation pumps to Kenyan farmers living in poverty. These low-cost, high quality pumps enable farmers to harvest their crops 3-4 times a year - ensuring their families never go hungry. It's transformative (and incredible to witness!)

To learn more about small scale irrigation, here's an article in National Geographic Voices.

PS: The countdown is on.

We're just 99 jobs away from creating a total of 1,000 jobs for people around the world. We're hoping to smash 1,000 this quarter - by helping 100 farmers. If you're interested in joining us, just shoot us an email and we'll get you plugged in.
