Jeniffer is a stove entrepreneur whose business provides for her husband and her three boys, ages 18, 14, and 5. Her husband works as a welder, but Jeniffer’s business is the family’s only reliable source of income for school fees, rent, and other basic needs. “This is my only source of income. My family depends on this business, because where my husband works is so low wages. So this is the main source of income in the family.”
Why she was selected for the program: A capable business owner who provides for her family, Jeniffer is empowered and ready to grow her enterprise. “I feel good. I feel in control that whatever I am doing is able to meet the needs of the family. I feel confident, I feel happy about it, and the husband has no problem with that … He is proud of me.” She also loves being her own boss! “I like being the boss. I like it because it’s my thing.”
Her business goal: Jeniffer hopes to increase her sales to $973 per month. She hopes to acquire enough capital to improve her tools and equipment as well as enter new markets to reach more customers. “I want to extend my business, grow my market, and with more capital, I would be able to open new outlets.”
