Climate Change Is Real

The Trump Administration withdrew support for our cookstove program.

Why? The Administration has labeled it a  “climate change” initiative.

Here are the facts about cookstoves:

  • Locally-made stoves drastically reduce toxic smoke emissions

  • Use 50 percent less charcoal than cooking over open fires

  • One stove saves six trees per year from being cut down for fuel

  • Prevents 1 ton of carbon from being emitted into the atmosphere

  • Some researchers believe black carbon is the second-largest driver of climate change, after carbon dioxide.

Ivanka Trump is spearheading the The Women’s Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment (WEEE) Act, supporting women in developing countries.

However, the Trump administration has failed to recognize that women in developing communities are hit hardest by climate change, affecting their ability to thrive economically. They are living in extreme poverty making less than $2 and are continually finding ways to survive and thrive.

It doesn’t help that cooking over open fires is one of the world’s biggest - but least known - killers of women and children. 4.3 million people die each year from breathing in toxic cooking smoke.

We need your support more than ever.

At The Adventure Project, we are a small but mighty non-profit on a mission to provide individuals in developing countries with jobs that save lives and lifts them out of extreme poverty.

400 women in Kenya and Tanzania are counting on us to give them the opportunity to work and thrive as cookstove entrepreneurs. We (a team of 3 + 2 interns) are working hard to find additional funding to fill the gap for our partner. These women will receive the hands-on training, tools and education to be successful contributors to their community and this beautiful planet with live on.

The Adventure Project started because of people like you. Till this day, we are still grassroots driven and have created over 1,600 jobs, changing the lives of 1.3 million people.

Our government isn’t helping beyond our borders.

We are better than this.

This is one small step to combat climate change.

Can we count on you?
