Ben is a trained agriculturalist and father of two who is advising his community on how to access affordable irrigation as an Irrigation Agent.
Ben earned diplomas in IT and agriculture hoping to find stable employment, but still struggled to find work. He truned to farming, but the cost of irrigating his crops made it difficult to succeed.
With a single irrigation pump, Ben began irrigating his own crops and renting the pump to neighboring farmers. His business took off almost immediately! He now owns multiple pumps and serves a growing number of farmers each week.
Ben has started to offer additional advice on irrigation timing, soil health, and crop colelction. He hopes to coninue meeting this growing community need by creating a local agriclture hub—a collaborative space for unemployed youth with farming backgrounds to share knowledge andtrain others.
