Victor is married and has six children, ranging in age from 19 to 2.5. He was previously a contractor but now farms full time, thanks to having access to an irrigation pump through renting.
Before farming, Victor worked in construction, but rising taxes slowed his business. At home, he relied on rain-fed beans and an unsustainable diesel pump.
Today Victor farms vegetables year-round with a KickStart pump, earning 7,000 KSh each week. He invests in poultry and cattle while supporting his children’s schooling.
He hopes to encourage his children’s education and grow his farming enterprise as a solution to climate change.
